Estructura: Exploring the notion of placemaking

As a member of the A-Place, each year LOOP commissions a new video production to further explore the notion of “placemaking”.

As a result, this year artist David Bestué and filmmaker Roser Corella will develop their collaborative film project “Estructura” departing from the urban context of L’Hospitalet de Llobregat.

“Estructura” will delve into the process of construction, use, dismantling, storage and distruction of a structure conceived by architect Emilio Pérez Piñero (Murcia, 1935 - 1972), which was installed in one of the neighbourhood of l'Hospitalet de Llobregat at the end of the 1960s. The research will be conducted by gathering direct testimonies. Being mostly temporary and ephemeral, the majority of Piñero’s works are in fact kept alive through memory – as it happens with ghosts.
