Patrícia Pereira

Patrícia Pereira is a researcher at the Interdisciplinary Center of Social Sciences, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Universidade Nova de Lisboa (CICS.NOVA, NOVA FCSH). She conducts research in Urban Sociology/Urban Studies and her main research interests are: urban inequalities, gentrification and displacement; public spaces and everyday life; and local governments. She regularly teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in Sociology and Urban Studies at NOVA FCSH. She is a member of the board of CICS.NOVA and she co-coordinates the Urban Sociology Research Network of the European Sociological Association (ESA RN37) and the Urban Ethnography Network-ETNO.URB. Her latest publications are “Towards the ‘just city’? Exploring the attitudes of European city mayors”, Urban Research & Practice (online March 2020, co-author) and Inequality and Uncertainty. Current Challenges for Cities, Springer (2020, co-author).
